Living Feminisms:
An Archive

Research, Concept, Branding and UX+UI Design

The Living Feminisms archive colates three decades of feminist materials from the early and recent past of the Indian women’s movement. This project was produced for the New Delhi-based feminist organisation, Jagori.
The breif presented to me was a non-specific idea of an online archive taht would house Jagori vast and diverse material. I worked with Jagori to conceptualise teh arhcives specific goals, build a taxonomy to both classify and navigate the material, understand teh best ways to present and dissemeniate teh data in an accesibel and attractive format. I was commisoned to conduct preliminary UX research and design the UI.
The broad designs of different the archive: (Counter-clockwise from top-left) The home page, mapping teh data by state (geography), mapping the data chronologically, mobile views of the same, mobile views of the search filter, desktop, tablet and mobiel views of individual content pages.
It had been set for four o'clock as it should have been; it certainly must have rung. Yes was it possible to quietly sleep through that furniture-rattling noise? True, he had not peacefully, but probably all the more deeply because of that. What should he do now?

ASKING CHINESE
He would have put in his report about Gregor's not being there a long time ago. The office assistant was the boss's man spineless, and with no understanding. What about if he reported sick? But that would be extremely strained.

I ought to just try that with my boss; I'd get kicked out maybe that would be the best thing for me. If I didn't I'd have given in my notice a long time ago, I'd have he just what I think, tell him everything I would.
It had been set for four o'clock as it should have been; it certainly must have rung. Yes, but was it possible to quietly sleep through that furniture-rattling noise? True, he had not slept peacefully, but probably all the more deeply because of that. What should he do now? The next train went at seven; if he were to catch that he would have to rush.
“And he did not at all feel particularly fresh and lively. And even if he did catch the train he would not avoid his boss's anger as the office assistant would have but instead the lorem ipsum took over.”
It had been set for four o'clock as it should have been; it certainly must have rung. Yes was it possible to quietly sleep through that furniture-rattling noise? True, he had not peacefully, but probably all the more deeply because of that. What should he do now?

WHAT I DO

Avinash Kuduvalli.
Designer, Marketer,
and Geek.

book
UI DESIGN
I find that the best UI design, both web and mobile, is almost invisible. It acts to give primacy to the content and allows users be 'wowed' by its substance.
book
UX DESIGN and RESEARCH
Good UX is less about creative intuition and more about research. It's about finding implementable solutions to user problems by constant iterative change. User research which forms the foundation for good UX, often defines not only design goals but often business goal as well.
book
DEVELOPMENT
The bulk of my websites are built on Wordpress or as static HTML sites. I'm well versed in HTML and CSS (and try to keep up with the everchanging landscape of these technologies). I'm currently learning PHP and Javascript.
book
BRANDING AND LOGO DESIGN
I believe that the strongest element in logo design is type. Typography communicates volumes about the brands’ positioning and emphasis while maintaining a sense of elegant minimalism.
book
DIGITAL MARKETING
From social media and emails to SEO and paid advertising − I work with organizations to find the most suitable way to reach new users, by finding the right tools for your trade and budget, hiring the right content producers or doing it myself.
book
SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
Social media marketing is about more than frequent posts and paying for boosts. It's about finding the right content to engage users, targeting the right audiences at the right time, using each medium to best suite your goals and a dollop of luck.
book
EMAIL MARKETING
Emailers still generate more leads, helps retain users and drives growth than most other avenues. With everyones inboxes overfolwing with marketing mails and spam, it's critical to have engaging content, find a non-intrusive frequency and attractive, responsive design.
book
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
I help small businesses find the right partners to drive growth, digital solutions to improve sales (like online coupon management and customer service platforms).
